Tortall Ladies Bookmarks

Edit: Beka is now added to the set.

And I have finished them!

Above are bookmarks of the heroines of four Tortall series: Song of the Lioness, The Immortals, Protector of the Small, Trickster, and Provost's Dog books. Their respective heroines: Alanna, Daine, Keladry, Aly, and Beka.

Once I finally got working on these ladies, it did not take me too long to color and set them up. Given they're a set, they have similar components with only mild changes. The animal silhouettes in the inner backgrounds are the animals mainly associated with the characters. The inner background color is also (at least for Alanna and Daine) are the color associated with the character. As Alanna and Daine's magic shows up in Violet and Orange (respectively).

Beka, Kel, and Aly's colors were not quite so clear cut. In truth, I sort of just ended up choosing colors separate from the others and looked well together. Aly's at least has more of an island feel to it. Kel's I only came up with her green background, having a sort of a forest feel to it, so perhaps representing her time out in the field surrounded by forest? So yeah. Beka's colors are the gray-blue to reference her eyes, while the more muddy inside color is to reference a little how she works in the lower city.

But other all, I'm very happy with how they have all turned out.
